1. Healthy Food for Eyes: Eat Right, Look Clean!

Healthy eyes start with healthy food.  Not just Vitamin A, but zinc, omega 3 fatty acids, lutein, Vitamin C and E are also very important for your eyes.

What to eat for healthy eyes:

  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Apples, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes
  • Dry fruits and beans
  • Citrus fruits and juices

Remember:

Pay attention to your weight too.  Obesity can increase the risk of diabetes, which is a danger to the eyes.

2. Reduce screen time: A little break is very beneficial!

Nowadays everyone is stuck to their laptop, phone or computer.  The blue light emitted from these devices is toxic for your eyes.

 What to do:

Follow the 20-20 rule: After every 20 minutes, look at something far away for 20 seconds

  • Blink your eyes repeatedly
  • Stop using screens one hour before going to sleep

3. Give rest for your eyes :

Drive away fatigue, bring freshness!  We use 40% of our energy through our eyes.  This makes my eyes feel tired.

 What to do:

  • Close your eyes for 1 minute every hour
  • Wash your eyes with your hands (palming)
  • Wash your eyes 2-3 times a day
  • Close your eyes while thinking
  • 8 hours of sleep at night is a must

4.  Eye Exercise:

Little effort, but great benefit!  We often try using our neck, as a result of which the eye muscles become weak.

 What to do:

Rotate eyes clockwise and anti-clockwise

Practice Trataka Kriya:

a) Bahiranga Trataka: Look at an object or candle

b) Sungazing: Look at sunrise or sunset (only orange-red ball)

Chakrasana, Bhujangasana  , do asanas like Konasana

5. Connect with nature: Miracle of nature!

Connecting with nature is very beneficial for your eyes.

 What to do:

  • Stand near a window and look at the clouds or trees
  • Look at the sky for some time
  • Exercise by opening and closing your eyes
