How to boost collagen in face naturally

How to Naturally Boost Collagen for Healthier Skin

Today I will tell you how to increase collagen in a natural way!

Hey friends! How are you all? I am Priya and today we will talk about a topic that interests everyone - the secret to getting great skin!

My cousin got married last month and seeing her glowing skin, I thought that I should also pay attention to my skin. After researching, I found out that the real hero is - COLLAGEN!

Let me share my research and experience with you.

What is this collagen?

It is a simple thing - collagen is a protein that keeps our skin young and tight. I understand it like the kheer made by my mother - just like kheer becomes tight and smooth when set, collagen also becomes smooth in the same way!

But the problem is that as age increases, collagen starts decreasing. My grandmother says - "Son, start skin maintenance after 25". And really, she is absolutely right!

Let's talk about solutions now!

How to boost collagen in face naturally

1. Aloe vera - my personal favorite!

My mom has aloe vera in her kitchen garden and I drink its juice every day. Trust me, there is no better natural remedy than this! You can also try:

  • Aloe vera juice on empty stomach in the morning (adding a little lemon makes it taste better)
  • Fresh aloe vera gel on face before sleeping at night
  • Aloe vera and honey face pack on weekends

2. Vitamin C-Rich Foods - part of my daily routine

Vitamin C is a crucial cofactor in collagen synthesis. A 2017 study in the Journal of Clinical Medicine demonstrated that regular consumption of vitamin C-rich foods significantly improved skin elasticity.

Oh man, vitamin C is like collagen's best friend! I take:

  • Lemon in morning tea
  • One orange or amla juice in breakfast
  • Capsicum vegetable or salad in lunch

3. Green vegetables and coriander

My grandmother always says - "Son, eat green vegetables, your face will remain glowing". And really, science also says the same! Me:

  • Lots of coriander in salad
  • Green vegetable curry
  • Coriander chutney (my favourite!)

4. Protein-Rich Foods

Your body needs specific amino acids to produce collagen. High-quality protein sources provide these essential building blocks:

  • Fish, particularly fatty fish rich in omega-3s
  • Chicken
  • Eggs
  • Beans and legumes
  • Bone broth

My Personal Tips

Friends, I have followed all this for the last 6 months and to be honest, I can see the changes! Some important points:

1. First of all, bye-bye to the phone!

No phone after 11 pm at night. I now read books or meditate.

2. Water hai toh life hai

I have bought a cute water bottle which keeps reminding me to drink water.

3. No Stress Zone

Whenever I feel stressed, I go to the terrace for 10 minutes and do deep breathing.

Common Mistakes That Damage Collagen

1. Excessive Sugar Consumption

High sugar intake creates advanced glycation end products (AGEs) that damage collagen fibers. Research shows reducing sugar intake helps maintain skin structure.

2. Smoking

Tobacco smoke contains chemicals that destroy collagen and elastin. Studies indicate smokers show accelerated skin aging and reduced collagen production.

3. Unprotected Sun Exposure

Even brief periods of unprotected sun exposure can damage collagen fibers and trigger premature aging.

My bestie used to smoke and the effect was clearly visible on her skin. I explained it to her and now she's trying to quit!

I have to avoid the sun

  • Carry an umbrella (my cute pink one!)
  • Wear sunscreen (even on cloudy days)
  • Stay indoors during the afternoon if possible

Final Words from the heart!

Friends, I am not a beauty expert, I am just sharing my experience. These changes have brought a positive difference in my life.

Remember:

- make changes gradually

- consistency is key

- don't take stress, enjoy the process!
