1 Proning Technique

Proning is one such technique which doctors use when there is a shortage of oxygen tank. In this, hair from stomach or face gets pulled. It is a simple technique but it is very important to do it correctly.

  1. put hair on your stomach
  2. Put one pillow under your upper chest (above the chest)
  3. Put the other pillow under your hips (not under the stomach, otherwise the diaphragm will not be able to move).
  4. And keep the third pillow under your knees.
  5.  You can sleep comfortably like this for 30 minutes or 2 hours. 

This will increase the blood flow in your lungs and also the oxygen level in your body.

After prone, it is also good to lie down in the side position.  This is called 'Makarasana' in yoga.  You can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours on both sides.

2 Breathing Exercises (Pranayam)

a) Equal Breathing:

Keep your hands on your shoulders and remember to take a deep breath, while taking breaths raise your chest and while exhaling keep it below it, this strengthens your upper chest.

 c) Intercostal Breathing:

Keep both hands on the sides.  While inhaling expand the muscles outwards, and while exhaling contract them inwards. 

d) Diaphragmatic Breathing:

Let's go, bend your legs a little.  While inhaling, lift your stomach upwards and while exhaling, take it downwards.  You can do this exercise 3 times a day, up to 30 rounds.

e) Kumbhak:

In this you take a breath, then hold it for some time.  This opens up the alveoli (small air sacs) of the lungs and increases oxygen absorption.

 f) Kapalbhati:

This is a powerful pranayam.  In this you exhale the breath forcefully and take it in slowly.  Do 30 rounds and take a long breath.  This cleans the respiratory tract.

Diet is also important to increase oxygen level.Eat iron-rich foods like spinach and other green leafy vegetables, beans, pulses, beetroot, raisins, apricots, pomegranate, etc. These help in increasing the hemoglobin level.I ate less salt.
